As part of the rehabilitation of a five-unit Victorian apartment building originally built as a single-family home in 1875, this project involves the transformation of a dark, cramped, 850sf, 1940’s-era attic apartment into a contemporary, light-filled, 1000sf, three-bedroom, two-bath penthouse aerie.  Dormers were added and partitions reconfigured to increase usable floor area.  The original flat ceiling was removed to create a more spacious atmosphere, and skylights carefully located to maximize natural light and views.
