This sustainable urban infill project transforms an underutilized urban lot into vibrant, energy-efficient housing that revitalizes the surrounding neighborhood

This 20,000-sf mixed-use, urban infill project consists of street-level commercial space and indoor parking, with five residential units arranged around an inner courtyard on the upper two floors. The building’s massing, organization, and material selections are designed to complement the scale, texture, and materiality of the surrounding neighborhood, and in response to the environmental challenges posed by the coastal exposure and adjacent highway. The goal of the project is to transform an area of urban blight into a vibrant, pedestrian-friendly streetscape while providing much-needed housing.
